How it Works?
Tell us the job you want. We email you new listings while they are still new.
Three steps
- Add a job alert. A job alert is a job title and a place, for example "Project Manager" in "Denver". The Free plan has 1, paid plans have up to 15.
- We watch the job sites for you. All day we look for listings that were just posted and match what you asked for.
- You get the new ones by email. When a new listing matches your alert we email it to you, with a link to apply on the site it came from. Each plan has a number of jobs we email in any 24 hours: 5 on Free, up to 150 on First. See the plans.
I, the founder, built this for my own job search. The screenshot shows one day of it: 89 emails. That was before plans had a daily number, so do not expect 89. Expect the newest matches, up to your plan's number.
Way too many applicants!
For a single job there are often hundreds of applicants! Say you find a suitable role and you go to apply, you'll more than likely get discouraged because of the number of applicants that have already applied.
Competition is extreme at this point in time, especially with so many people being laid off due to the economy. You need an edge within this market.
Hundreds of resumes, 20 read
"I am hiring and I received hundreds of resumes. I looked at 20, interviewed 5 and hired 1." There you have it! Right from an HR professional's mouth (keyboard). They are not reviewing hundreds or thousands of resumes!
Applying takes one click now
"THIS right here. With the introduction of 'online job listings' and the ability to apply with the press of a button, the applicant pool that used to be those looking for a job now includes those who are looking for a better job, i.e. everybody and applicant pools have gone from 10-20 to literally hundreds of responses and all for a single position."
After your resume, it is timing
"Yep. So it really is just a numbers game. I'm sure some awesome applicants were never looked at. As a candidate my advice would be to not take it personally and play the numbers game. I do think your resume is the most valuable thing you have but it is just luck and timing after that."
Timing is the part we help with. We cannot promise that your resume will be read. But if yours is one of the first to get through the employer's applicant tracking system (ATS), it is very likely to at least be read. That is why we email you a job soon after it is posted.
