This privacy policy explains how Jobareer collects and processes your personal data when you use this website, create an account, set up job alerts, upload a resume, or buy a subscription.
Controller
Jobareer is the controller and responsible for your personal data (collectively referred to as "Jobareer," "we," "us," or "our" in this privacy policy).

Changes to the Privacy Policy and Your Duty to Inform us of Changes
We keep our privacy policy under regular review. This version was last updated on October 14 2026. It is important that the personal data we hold about you is accurate and current. Please keep us informed if your personal data changes during your relationship with us.
Third-Party Links
This website links to job listings and other pages on third-party websites. Clicking on those links may allow third parties to collect or share data about you. We do not control these third-party websites and are not responsible for their privacy statements.
2. The Data We Collect About You
Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymous data). We collect:
- Account data: your email address and password (stored as a hash), and your name if you provide it.
- Profile data: anything you add to your profile, such as phone number, postal address, education and keywords.
- Resume data: the resume files you upload and the details read from them, such as your work history, education and skills.
- Job search data: the job alerts you set up, the jobs we have emailed you, and the jobs you click, save or mark as applied.
- Payment data: the plan you subscribe to and its status. Card details are entered on and held by our payment processor, Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
- Usage data: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view and how you arrived at the site.
3. How We Use Your Personal Data
We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:
- To register you as a new user and keep your account secure.
- To match new job listings to your alerts and email them to you.
- To read your resume and fill in your profile from it.
- To process and deliver your service including managing payments and collecting money owed to us.
- To measure how the site is used, find and fix problems, and measure how well our advertising works.
- To answer you when you email us.
Emails
Job alert emails are the service you signed up for. Every alert email has an unsubscribe link that stops them in one click, and you can change or remove your alerts at any time from your dashboard. We will still send messages needed to run your account, such as password resets and payment receipts.
4. Disclosure of Your Personal Data
Uploaded resumes are checked for viruses and stored on servers we operate ourselves. We share your personal data with the service providers below, only as far as each needs it to do its job for us:
- Stripe processes subscription payments.
- Amazon Web Services delivers our email.
- OpenRouter, and the AI model provider it passes each request to (currently Google, and Anthropic for some features), receive what an AI feature needs to answer you: the text of a resume you upload or ask us to read, improve or add a skill to; a question you ask the Career Coach, with your job alerts, the jobs in your applications and your latest resume; the job and the details you give when you ask for a referral message or for answers to an application form; and what you type into the free writing tools. We ask that only providers that do not keep or train on that text are used.
- Cloudflare delivers the site and protects it from attacks, so your requests pass through its network.
- Google Ads and Meta (Facebook) receive usage data through the advertising tags described in section 5.
- Gravatar receives a scrambled (hashed) form of your email address to look up a profile picture for your account.
- Google Fonts, Bunny Fonts and jsDelivr serve fonts and scripts to your browser, and see your IP address when they do.
We may also disclose personal data where the law requires it, or to a buyer if the business or its assets are sold.
5. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Essential: a session cookie keeps you signed in and protects forms from misuse. The site does not work without it.
- Analytics: we run our own analytics (Matomo) and session replay (OpenReplay) on servers we operate, to count visits, see which pages are used, and replay how a visit went so that we can find and fix problems.
- Advertising: the Google Ads tag and the Meta Pixel record visits and sign-ups so that we can measure our advertising. Google and Meta may combine this with other information they hold about you.
Analytics and advertising cookies are only set after you accept them in the cookie notice. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie Settings" link at the bottom of any page. Our Cookie Policy has the details.
6. International Transfers
We are based in the United States but may share your personal data with external third parties in other countries for the purposes described in this privacy policy. Whenever we transfer your personal data out of your jurisdiction, we ensure a similar degree of protection is afforded to it by implementing at least one of the following safeguards:
- We will only transfer your personal data to countries that have been deemed to provide an adequate level of protection for personal data by the relevant regulatory bodies.
- Where we use certain service providers, we may use specific contracts or codes of conduct or certification mechanisms approved by the relevant regulatory bodies to ensure that your personal data is treated in a manner that is consistent with and respects the EU and other applicable laws on data protection.
7. Data Security
We have implemented appropriate security measures designed to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorized way, altered, or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors, and other third parties who have a business need to know. They will only process your personal data on our instructions, and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.
8. Data Retention
We will only retain your personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, or reporting requirements. We may retain your personal data for a longer period in the event of a complaint or if we reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation in respect to our relationship with you.
9. Your Legal Rights
Under certain circumstances, you have rights under data protection laws in relation to your personal data including the right to access, correction, erasure, objection to processing, and portability of your personal data.
You can remove a resume or a job alert yourself from your dashboard, and delete your whole account from the bottom of your profile page. Deleting your account removes your profile, resumes, alerts and history, and cancels any subscription. To exercise any other right, email us at [email protected] from the address on your account.
10. CCPA
For residents of California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you rights regarding the access to, deletion of, and sharing of your personal data. We do not sell your personal data. If you are a resident of California and wish to exercise your rights under the CCPA, please contact us.
11. GDPR
For residents of the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives you rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data. You also have the right to data portability, the right to withdraw consent at any time, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. We are committed to upholding your rights under GDPR. If you wish to exercise any of these rights, please contact us.
