Account Manager

Position Summary

The Account Manager / Production Manager serves as both a client relationship leader and field operations manager. This role is responsible for managing commercial landscape accounts, driving enhancement sales, retaining customers, overseeing daily field operations, and ensuring quality, safety, and operational excellence across assigned properties.

Key Responsibilities

Client & Account Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for commercial clients, property managers, and contractors.
• Build strong client relationships through proactive communication and responsive service.
• Resolve customer concerns within 24 hours and maintain high retention and renewal rates.
• Conduct regular site visits and provide property improvement recommendations.

Enhancement Sales

• Identify and sell landscape enhancement opportunities, including seasonal color, mulch, drainage, irrigation, and turf improvements.
• Prepare accurate proposals and meet assigned enhancement sales goals.
• Collaborate with estimating and design teams on larger enhancement projects.
• Educate clients on property improvements and best management practices.

Operations & Team Leadership

• Manage daily crew schedules, routing, labor budgets, and equipment deployment.
• Recruit, train, coach, and develop crew leaders and field employees.
• Conduct regular property inspections to ensure contract compliance, quality standards, and customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate material procurement and oversee maintenance of vehicles, trailers, and equipment.
• Support seasonal operations, storm response, and emergency service activities as needed.

Safety & Compliance

• Lead and enforce company safety programs, PPE compliance, and weekly safety meetings.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, reporting requirements, and operational procedures.
• Promote professional appearance and conduct while representing the company.
• Apply horticultural knowledge related to turf, ornamentals, pruning, irrigation, and landscape maintenance.

Qualifications

Experience & Education

• 2–4 years of experience in commercial landscaping, account management, field supervision, or a related role.
• Degree in Horticulture, Agronomy, Business, Landscape Management, or related field preferred.

Certifications & Licenses

• Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record (required).
• State Pesticide Applicator License or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Completion of internal leadership and management training programs.

Skills

• Strong leadership, customer service, sales, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with landscape management software (Aspire, LMN, BOSS, Jobber, or similar).
• Effective verbal and written communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform routine physical activities, including walking, bending, kneeling, and site inspections.
• Ability to work safely around common landscape and job-site hazards.
