AI Operations Manager
Job Description
About Fuego
Fuego is redefining footwear built for dance, athletics, and streetwear — where style, performance, and comfort meet in every step. Born out of dance culture and forged on dance floors around the world, Fuego has grown into a global lifestyle brand, sold direct-to-consumer and through select retailers in 120+ countries.
The role
You'll own how Fuego uses AI across the business. You'll build automations that take manual work off the team, turn our data into clear insight about what's working, and help everyone use AI well in their daily work. You report directly to the CEO.
This is a remote contract, available to candidates worldwide.
What you'll do
- Build AI-powered automations and tools across the company so the team spends less time on repetitive work.
- Turn data from across the business into dashboards, reports, and insights that drive decisions
- Keep the systems you run reliable, documented, and improving. When something breaks, you fix it and make sure it doesn't happen again.
- Help the team adopt new tools and use AI well in their own work, through hands-on support and simple guides.
- Spot the next big opportunities and bring them to the CEO with a recommendation and a plan to deliver them.
What you bring
Must have
- 3+ years in operations, growth, analytics, or a technical ops role at a fast-moving company, ideally ecommerce.
- A track record of shipping working automations and tools with AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar), automation platforms, and APIs. No computer science degree needed, but you'll show us what you built.
- Hands-on use of LLMs in real workflows: prompting, structured outputs, testing that the results hold up.
- Solid SQL and spreadsheet skills, and a record of turning messy data into clear dashboards and decisions.
- Strong operations instincts: you notice when something's off, find the root cause, and fix it.
- The ability to explain technical work in plain language and teach non-technical teammates.
- Comfort working remotely and independently against priorities set by a founder.
Nice to have
- Ecommerce or DTC experience, especially Shopify
- Some coding in Python or JavaScript.
