Cookie Policy
Effective Date: October 7 2026
Last Updated: October 26 2026
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Some are needed for the site to work. Others are optional: when we use those depends on where you are (section 3).
1. Cookies We Always Use
- Session and security: keep you signed in and protect forms from misuse. The site does not work without them.
- Your cookie choice: we remember your choice, in your browser's local storage, so we do not ask on every page.
- Site version: a cookie with a random identifier, kept for a year, keeps you in the same version of the site while we compare two versions, and keeps the version you landed on if you came from one of our ads. It says nothing about who you are.
- Cloudflare: our network provider may set a cookie to tell real visitors from automated attacks.
2. Optional Cookies
- Analytics: our own analytics (Matomo) and session replay (OpenReplay), run on servers we operate, recognize a returning browser so that we can count visits and replay how a visit went to find and fix problems. If you decline or opt out, visits are still counted, without cookies and without recognizing you between visits.
- Advertising: the Google Ads tag, the Meta Pixel and Microsoft Advertising's tag record visits and sign-ups so that we can measure our advertising. Google, Meta and Microsoft may combine this with other information they hold about you. If you decline or opt out, these are not loaded at all.
3. When We Use Optional Cookies
- In the United States, Australia, New Zealand, India, Pakistan and Mexico: we use them from your first visit and show a notice saying so. You can opt out at any time with "Your privacy choices" at the bottom of any page. If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out and do not load them.
- Everywhere else, and whenever we cannot tell where you are: we use them only after you accept them in the cookie notice.
We tell where you are from the country our network provider, Cloudflare, gives for your connection.
4. Changing Your Choice
Use the "Cookie settings" or "Your privacy choices" link at the bottom of any page to see the notice again and change your choice. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; blocking the session cookie will stop you signing in.
