AI/ML Engineer - 100% Remote

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced AI/ML Engineer to develop full-stack applications supporting federal technology initiatives. The role involves working across generative AI, APIs, databases, and modern web technologies to deliver secure and scalable software solutions.

The successful candidate will collaborate with data science and prototyping teams to develop AI/ML applications, solve complex technical challenges, and deliver working software solutions within an Agile development environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement custom software applications supporting AI/ML pilot programs and use cases, including generative AI technologies such as Google Gemini.

Build and integrate APIs, including RESTful services, authentication, data formats, and error handling.

Evaluate SQL and NoSQL database technologies and select appropriate solutions based on application requirements.

Integrate relational and NoSQL databases into applications where appropriate while following database security best practices.

Collaborate with prototyping teams to develop and deliver working software solutions within accelerated timelines.

Address complex technical challenges by identifying and implementing innovative solutions using appropriate technologies, methodologies, tools, and solution components.

Participate throughout the Agile development lifecycle, including release planning, sprint planning, testing, demonstrations, and retrospectives.

Work with data science teams to integrate software applications with AI/ML, Big Data, and Business Intelligence solutions.

Required Qualifications

U.S. citizenship and the ability to successfully complete the required federal background investigation.

Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree and seven years of related experience, or equivalent.

Ability to evaluate complex technical problems and develop innovative solutions in a fast-paced software prototyping environment.

Full-stack development experience, including front-end development using Angular and back-end development involving user interfaces, servers, and databases.

Experience collaborating with data science teams to integrate applications with AI/ML, Big Data, or Business Intelligence solutions.

Ability to independently manage complex technical assignments with limited direction or oversight.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with live data or video streams.

Technical certifications such as AWS Certified Developer – Associate.

Experience with DevOps and CI/CD platforms such as GitLab.

Experience developing AI/ML or advanced predictive analytics solutions.

Experience working with geographically dispersed or remote teams.

Knowledge of data science principles and best practices.
