About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled API Developer to join our dynamic team on a long-term contract basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of open banking standards and API specifications, with hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining secure and scalable APIs. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to implement API solutions that adhere to industry best practices and security standards. The API Developer will play a critical role in enhancing our open banking platform, ensuring seamless integration, optimal performance, and robust security measures. The position offers an opportunity to work on innovative projects within a fast-paced environment, contributing to the digital transformation efforts of our clients.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications in API development, cloud computing, or security are a plus. Candidates must have extensive experience with open banking standards such as FDX, FAPI, REST API, OAUTH 2.0, and OpenID Connect. Proficiency in Java (8 or 17), Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, and SQL databases like MySQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL is essential. Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, along with familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and test automation, is required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent communication abilities, are vital for success in this role. Prior experience working in Agile and DevOps environments is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

The API Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining secure APIs aligned with open banking standards. Key responsibilities include implementing API security measures such as encryption, decryption algorithms, and security patterns, as well as managing API governance, caching strategies, and analytics. The role involves configuring and troubleshooting proxy APIs and policies using APIGEE Edge/X, ensuring high performance and security compliance. The developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to brainstorm new features, enhancements, and improvements, troubleshooting complex issues, and providing post-production support. Additionally, the candidate will participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment. Managing concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment, maintaining documentation, and ensuring adherence to best practices are also essential aspects of this role.
