Job Overview

American Unit, Inc. is seeking a skilled and results-driven APIM / API Gateway Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing API gateways and Application Programming Interface Management (APIM) solutions that facilitate seamless integration between our internal applications and external services. Job Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain API gateway solutions to support seamless integration with internal and external applications.
• Implement security protocols to secure APIs and protect sensitive data, including authentication and authorization mechanisms.
• Monitor API performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize API routes for improved response times.
• Collaborate with software development teams to integrate API management solutions into the software development lifecycle.
• Document API specifications and usage guidelines, ensuring clarity for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices related to API development and management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in API development and management, with a strong focus on APIM solutions.
• Proficiency in RESTful API design and development, with hands-on experience using API gateways such as Apigee, AWS API Gateway, or Azure API Management.
• Solid understanding of API security protocols, including OAuth 2.0 and JWT.
• Experience with cloud technologies and services, particularly AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines and version control systems such as Git.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Technologies & Tools

The ideal candidate will have experience working with a variety of technologies and tools essential for API management.
