Job Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure application solutions within AWS infrastructure.
• Conduct security assessments and vulnerability analyses on applications and systems.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Monitor application security metrics and report findings to stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards related to application security.
• Provide guidance and training on security tools and practices to technical teams.
• Stay updated with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies relevant to the AWS environment.
• Respond to incidents and conduct thorough investigations to devise effective remediation strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in application security, particularly in a cloud environment.
• Strong knowledge of AWS security services, architecture, and best practices.
• Experience with security tools such as SAST, DAST, and application firewalls.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).
• Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, AWS Certified Security Specialty) are highly desirable.
• Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and automation tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Technologies & Tools

The Application Security Platform Engineer will work with a variety of technologies and tools, including but not limited to AWS Security services (such as AWS IAM, AWS WAF, and AWS Inspector), static and dynamic application security testing (SAST and DAST) tools, network security configurations, CI/CD security integrations, automated compliance tools, and security monitoring solutions.
