Job Purpose:

Evangelical Home - Saline is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the leadership and daily operations of our Nursing department. Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Director of Nursing with overseeing daily nursing operations, resident care, and departmental programs.
• Support the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management of nursing staff.
• Monitor infection control and antibiotic stewardship programs to promote resident safety and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct clinical rounds and audits to ensure quality care and adherence to facility policies and procedures.
• Monitor resident rehospitalizations and support staff education and interventions to reduce avoidable hospital transfers.
• Assist with quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives, resident care planning, and wound care oversight.
• Prepare for state surveys, inspections, and audits while supporting compliance with skilled nursing regulations.
• Collaborate with residents, families, physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and resolve concerns.
• Support ongoing staff education, policy implementation, and clinical performance improvement.
• Assume nursing department leadership responsibilities in the Director of Nursing’s absence.

Work Hours

• Hours vary but are generally Monday – Friday from 7:30 AM to 4 PM
• On call: Yes - Rotating evening and weekend on-call coverage responsibility
• Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends, holidays when necessary.

Required Licensure:

• Active RN license in the State of Michigan in good standing
• CPR certification

Preferred Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field is preferred.

Required Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a skilled nursing facility in a management role
• Previous knowledge of: Skilled nursing rules and regulations, Infection control, Quality assurance, Performance improvement plans, Wound care, Rehospitalization oversight, Resident care planning, Personnel management
• Previous experience with use of PointClickCare
• Basic computer knowledge (Word, Outlook, Excel)
