Join our team as an Assistant Food Service Manager and help provide quality dining services in a healthcare environment! We are looking for a dependable, organized, and service-focused individual who can support daily food service operations, maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety, and help ensure residents receive excellent service.

Position Summary

The Assistant Food Service Manager assists with the daily operation of the food service department, ensuring that meals and services meet resident needs, company standards, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This position supports sanitation, safety, menu management, recordkeeping, and customer satisfaction while working closely with residents, staff, and management.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative and Operational Support

• Help maintain established sanitation, food safety, and workplace safety standards.
• Work varied shifts as needed to support department operations.
• Communicate professionally and respectfully with residents, clients, coworkers, the Account Manager, District Manager, and the public.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to resident requests and the paging system.
• Follow company policies, procedures, and applicable industry regulations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  
  
  

Customer Service and Resident Satisfaction

• Support a positive dining experience by responding to resident preferences and individual needs.
• Help ensure food service operations meet established quality and service expectations.
• Maintain professional working relationships with residents, clients, and team members.
• Address service concerns promptly and communicate issues to management when appropriate.
  
  
  

Quality, Compliance, and Risk Management

• Follow infection control procedures and universal precautions to maintain a clean and sanitary environment.
• Recognize workplace hazards, use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and follow safety procedures.
• Read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and assist with communicating safety requirements to employees.
• Help ensure equipment and supplies are properly maintained and available for daily operations.
• Assist with maintaining accurate menus and ensuring menus are completed according to established policies and procedures.
• Use available menu-planning software as needed.
• Maintain accurate and timely records using computers and other documentation systems in accordance with company standards and applicable regulations.

• Flexibility to work varied shifts as needed.
