Role Description

Clever Alice is seeking a full-time, on-site Assistant Manager to help lead our women’s fashion boutiques in Nolita and the West Village. This hands-on role combines personal styling, sales leadership, and daily store operations.

The Assistant Manager will create a welcoming shopping experience, build lasting customer relationships, and help the team reach sales goals. Responsibilities include coaching sales associates, maintaining visual merchandising, organizing inventory, managing opening and closing procedures, and assisting with social media content. The ideal candidate is fashion-minded, organized, dependable, and confident in taking initiative in a busy boutique environment.

Qualifications

• Previous fashion retail experience, ideally in a supervisory or key holder role.
• Strong customer service and personal styling skills, with the ability to build lasting client relationships.
• Confidence driving sales, supporting store goals, and motivating a team.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Clear communication, a collaborative attitude, and initiative.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a busy boutique environment.
• Experience with visual merchandising, inventory management, and POS systems; Shopify POS is a plus.
• A strong interest in fashion, independent designers, and current trends.
• Dependability, punctuality, and availability to work weekends.
