Job Responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of cloud-based solutions to support Invitae’s platforms.

• Collaborate with product management and other stakeholders to define project requirements and align cloud initiatives with organizational goals.
• Ensure the operational excellence and security of cloud infrastructure, including the implementation of best practices for data privacy and compliance.
• Monitor and evaluate emerging cloud technologies, recommending enhancements that align with Invitae’s strategic objectives.
• Prepare and manage the budget for cloud initiatives, optimizing costs while ensuring high availability and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
• 7+ years of experience in cloud computing, with a focus on cloud architecture and management.
• Proven experience leading technical teams and managing complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with major cloud service providers such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Extensive knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance regulations.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Technologies & Tools

This role will require familiarity with a variety of technologies and tools, including but not limited to cloud service platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
