Role: Atlassian Platform Administrator

Location: Richardson, TX , Tempe, AZ , Hartford, CT , Raleigh, NC-Hybrid

Type: Contract

We are seeking an experienced Atlassian Cloud Administrator to administer, configure, maintain, and optimize Atlassian Cloud products, including Jira Software, Jira Service Management (JSM), and Confluence. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing Atlassian Cloud environments, user access, workflows, project configurations, automation, integrations, and enterprise governance.

The candidate will work closely with project managers, development teams, IT service management teams, and business stakeholders to ensure the Atlassian platform supports collaboration, agile delivery, service management, and organizational productivity.

Key Responsibilities

1. Atlassian Cloud Administration

• Administer and maintain Atlassian Cloud products, including Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence.
• Manage Atlassian organizations, sites, products, groups, users, and product access.
• Configure global permissions, project permissions, roles, and security settings.
• Manage Jira projects, issue types, screens, fields, workflows, schemes, and notification settings.
• Administer Confluence spaces, page permissions, templates, and collaboration features.
• Support platform configuration, upgrades managed by Atlassian, and cloud feature adoption.

2. Jira Configuration and Workflow Management

• Create and maintain Jira workflows, statuses, transitions, validators, and post-functions.
• Configure custom fields, screens, issue types, components, versions, and project schemes.
• Implement Jira Automation rules for repetitive tasks and business processes.
• Configure Scrum and Kanban boards, backlogs, dashboards, filters, and reports.
• Support Agile teams with sprint management, backlog organization, and reporting.
• Troubleshoot workflow, permission, notification, and configuration issues.

3. Confluence Administration

• Manage Confluence spaces, page hierarchies, templates, permissions, and content organization.
• Establish documentation standards and knowledge management practices.
• Configure page restrictions and space-level access controls.
• Integrate Confluence with Jira for project documentation and traceability.
• Support knowledge sharing, collaboration, and content governance.

4. Jira Service Management (JSM)

• Configure service projects, request types, portals, queues, and customer access.
• Maintain incident, problem, change, and service request workflows.
• Configure SLAs, escalation rules, notifications, and approval processes.
• Support knowledge base integration and self-service capabilities.
• Implement automation for ticket routing, assignment, and service management processes.
