Our Challenge:

We are seeking a hands-on AWS Cloud Application Engineer to develop, test, deploy, and support modern cloud-native applications and services.

The successful candidate will have recent practical experience with AWS Amplify, Amazon S3 for content hosting and storage, React, Python, AWS Lambda, Amazon EventBridge, and MongoDB Atlas. The role will also require familiarity with GitHub, GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile software development practices.

This is a development-focused position. The successful candidate will be expected to write code, build application features, create integrations, develop automated tests, troubleshoot issues, and support deployments. This is not an enterprise architecture or people-management role.

Experience with single sign-on, identity management, automated testing, and multi-tenant application isolation is especially important.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.

In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Piscataway, NJ is $110K-$120K/year & benefits (see below).

Responsibilities:

Application Development

• Develop and maintain secure, scalable cloud applications using React, Python, AWS services, and MongoDB Atlas.
• Build front-end features, application services, APIs, integrations, and event-driven workflows.
• Translate functional and technical requirements into maintainable, production-ready software.
• Write React and Python code.
• Develop Lambda functions and event-driven workflows.
• Build and integrate AWS Amplify applications.
• Use S3 for secure application content and storage.
• Integrate applications with MongoDB Atlas.
• Implement SSO, authorization, and tenant-aware access controls.
• Develop and maintain automated tests.
• Participate in GitHub and GitHub Actions-based delivery processes.
• Troubleshoot and support deployed applications.
• Reduced production defects and faster issue resolution.
• Work as part of an Agile development team.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of AWS Cloud Application experience
• Experience in React and Python application development.
• Good experience with AWS Lambda and EventBridge integrations.
• Secure and maintainable use of S3 and MongoDB Atlas.
• Experience in AWS Amplify application delivery.
• Experience in SSO, authorization, and tenant-isolation controls.
• Meaningful automated unit, integration, security, and end-to-end test coverage.
• Experience in GitHub Actions pipelines and repeatable deployments.
