The AWS Platform Architect at Snowflake will be primarily responsible for the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud architectures leveraging Amazon Web Services (AWS). Job Responsibilities

• Design and architect cloud solutions using AWS services for various applications and workloads.
• Implement frameworks and tools for optimizing performance, security, and cost management across cloud operations.
• Collaborate with teams to define technology and infrastructure requirements and align with operational and financial metrics.
• Conduct architectural reviews and design sessions to ensure adherence to industry best practices.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to development teams on AWS technologies and design methodologies.
• Continuously evaluate new AWS services and technologies, and recommend integration or migration strategies.
• Serve as a key technical resource for stakeholders, providing support, troubleshooting, and solutions to complex problems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture and engineering, specifically within AWS.
• Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.
• Proficiency in key AWS services, including but not limited to EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and CloudFormation.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in various scenarios.

Technologies & Tools

In this role, the AWS Platform Architect will utilize a variety of technologies and tools including, but not limited to, Amazon Web Services (AWS) suite (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda), CloudFormation, Docker, Kubernetes, and configuration management tools. Familiarity with monitoring and analytics tools such as CloudWatch and third-party observability platforms will also be essential for managing performance and maintaining architecture integrity.
