About the Role

Talemexa is seeking an experienced Backend Developer to design, develop, and maintain the server-side services and data layers that power its products. In this role, you will build reliable REST APIs, optimize database performance, integrate third-party systems, and help ensure that applications remain secure, scalable, and highly available.

The ideal candidate has 3–6 years of backend development experience, strong SQL knowledge, and practical expertise in at least one backend programming language, such as Java, Python, Node.js, or .NET. You should be comfortable working with microservices, caching technologies, message queues, automated testing, and CI/CD workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain robust REST APIs and backend services.
• Build and document API endpoints to support frontend applications and third-party integrations.
• Optimize SQL queries, database schemas, and data-access operations to improve performance.
• Integrate external APIs, platforms, and third-party services with existing applications.
• Monitor production systems, investigate technical issues, and implement effective solutions.
• Improve application security, scalability, reliability, and overall system performance.
• Work with caching technologies such as Redis and messaging systems to support efficient data processing.
• Develop and maintain microservices and other backend components based on project requirements.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code following established development standards.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, performance testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes to enable reliable software releases.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, and other technical team members to deliver quality solutions.

Qualifications and Experience

• 3–6 years of professional experience in backend development or software engineering.
• Proficiency in at least one backend programming language: Java, Python, Node.js, or .NET.
• Strong understanding of SQL, relational databases, query optimization, and data modeling.
• Hands-on experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with Redis or other caching technologies.
• Understanding of message queues, asynchronous processing, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with software testing, debugging, version control, and CI/CD practices.
• Knowledge of backend security principles and scalable application design.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
