Back End Developer

Role Description As a Back End Developer at Xcoino, you will design, implement, and maintain server-side logic, APIs, and data storage solutions that power core products and services. You will collaborate closely with front-end developers, product managers, and other engineers to translate requirements into robust, testable, and efficient code. Daily responsibilities include building and optimizing RESTful or GraphQL APIs, integrating third-party services, managing databases, and ensuring application security, reliability, and scalability. You will also participate in code reviews, troubleshoot production issues, and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and tooling. This is a full-time, on-site role based in the New York City Metropolitan Area.
Qualifications

• Strong skills in Back-End Web Development and Software Development, with experience building and maintaining production-grade services.
• Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and general Programming concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
• Understanding of Front-End Development fundamentals to enable effective collaboration with front-end teams and integration of APIs.
• Experience with at least one modern back-end language and framework (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java, Go, or similar) and RESTful or GraphQL API design.
• Hands-on experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, including schema design, query optimization, and data modeling.
• Knowledge of security best practices, authentication/authorization mechanisms, and performance optimization for distributed systems.
• Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and containerization or cloud platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Ability to work collaboratively on-site, communicate clearly with cross-functional teams, and take ownership of technical solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
