Barista

Greka By Montuno Coffee is a specialty coffee shop in the South Bronx (15 Canal Place) looking for a Barista to join our small, growing team. You will prepare espresso drinks, hot and iced lattes, drip coffee and pour-over methods (Chemex and French Press), serve customers at the bar and register (Square POS), and keep your station clean and stocked. At Greka, everyone works the floor — you will also support the kitchen and dispatch during rush periods (we always staff a minimum of two people per shift). Full-time and part-time positions available. Store hours: Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–4:00 PM, Saturday 9:00 AM–4:00 PM, Sunday closed.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare drinks to house recipes: espresso, hot/iced lattes, drip, cold brew, teas and seasonal specials

• Take orders and payments on Square POS; handle pickup and delivery orders accurately

• Dial in the grinder, maintain the espresso machine and report any issues right away

• Keep the bar, display case and customer area clean; restock cups, milks and syrups

• Support kitchen/dispatch during peak hours

Requirements:

• Coffee shop / espresso bar experience preferred (1 year ideal) — if you have the attitude, we will train you

• Available for morning shifts (we open at 7:00 AM) and Saturdays

• Legally authorized to work in the United States

• Bilingual English/Spanish is a strong plus in our neighborhood

• NYC Food Protection Certificate and latte art skills are a plus

• Punctual, fast, and genuinely friendly — our customers are neighbors who come back for the people

What we offer:

• $17.00–$19.00/hour + tips, based on experience

• Training in specialty coffee methods

• Small-team environment with room to grow — Greka is being built to franchise
