Mandatory Background Security And CJIS/CLETS Requirements

Candidates must be able to successfully complete required background security screening, including applicable state and federal fingerprint-based criminal history checks, and satisfy all applicable CJIS/CLETS requirements before accessing ARJIS SANDAG systems or data. Continued eligibility requires annual security reviews and applicable training or certification renewals. Existing clearance is not required to apply.

Seeking a BI Analyst to support report assessment, development, testing, documentation, and customer support for a Cognos-to-Power BI modernization project. The role requires hands-on Power BI and SQL skills, familiarity with Cognos reporting, and the ability to translate user needs into accurate reporting solutions.

The Analyst will work under project and technical leadership to migrate reports, validate results, resolve reporting issues, and prepare materials that help users adopt the new environment.

Responsibilities

• Gather and document user reporting requirements through interviews, surveys, and working sessions.
• Inventory and classify Cognos reports and identify duplicate, inactive, or similar reports.
• Review existing report logic and assist with extracting and validating SQL queries.
• Develop Power BI reports and dashboards using approved templates and reporting standards.
• Create or update supporting SQL views in coordination with the technical team.
• Execute functional and data validation tests, compare outputs with legacy reports, and documentation
• Maintain report inventories, migration tracking records, test results, and configuration documentation.
• Investigate reporting and user access issues and assist with assigned help desk tickets.
• Develop user guides, quick-reference materials, knowledge base articles, and training content.
• Support deployment verification, cloud reporting validation, and knowledge transfer.
