About The Role

Bow Wave LLC is seeking an Azure Infrastructure & DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and operate cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure. This position combines cloud architecture, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), deployment automation, and security remediation. You will help bring unmanaged Azure resources under source control, improve infrastructure code, configure CI/CD pipelines, and support important migration efforts. The role is suited to an experienced cloud professional who can balance hands-on engineering with collaboration across technical teams. You will also help ensure cloud services are secure, reliable, performant, and cost-conscious.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree is required, along with at least eight years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, infrastructure engineering, or a closely related field. Candidates should have strong practical knowledge of Microsoft Azure services and experience automating infrastructure and operational workflows. Proficiency with PowerShell is important, particularly for maintaining and refactoring infrastructure code. Experience with ARM templates is relevant; familiarity with Terraform or Ansible is also valuable.

Applicants should understand cloud security remediation, compliance, and governance practices, and be able to assess findings and prioritize corrective action. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills are essential. Experience working in an Agile or Scrum environment is expected. Preferred qualifications include Microsoft Azure certifications in architecture, administration, or DevOps, or relevant AWS certifications. Experience with hybrid cloud environments, Docker, Kubernetes, advanced networking, and GitLab CI/CD is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage Azure infrastructure across compute, networking, and storage services. Modernize infrastructure repositories by identifying unmanaged Azure resources, bringing them under source control, and refactoring existing IaC, primarily using PowerShell. Develop and maintain repeatable automation for infrastructure deployments and operational workflows, applying appropriate IaC tools and scripting practices.

Review Azure security scan findings, assess risk, and remediate critical and high-priority issues in alignment with applicable security and compliance requirements. Monitor cloud environments, investigate incidents and performance concerns, and make improvements that support reliability and cost efficiency. Configure, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines to enable consistent, controlled delivery. Collaborate with development, operations, security, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, coordinate implementation, and share Azure best practices. Contribute to migration and modernization activities, document solutions, and support the ongoing operation of cloud services.
