Commodity Trader

Role Description The physicals 'Commodity Trader' will manage day-to-day trading activities for agricultural commodities, focusing on buyer acquisition, pricing, execution, and risk management in line with Maalexi’s platform and market strategy. This full-time, on-site role is based in the United States and involves building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, buyers, and financial counterparties in regional and international markets. Responsibilities include analyzing commodity market trends, identifying trading opportunities, structuring and executing trades, and applying hedging strategies to optimize profitability and manage exposure. The role also includes close coordination with operations, risk, and technology teams to ensure accurate trade execution, settlement, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Physical Trading of agricultural commodities.
• Solid understanding of Finance and Hedging, including risk management, pricing, and exposure mitigation.
• Proven Sales abilities, with experience in sourcing, negotiating, and closing deals with diverse counterparties.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; advanced qualifications are an advantage.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and communication skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
