About the Opportunity

Adoskope is seeking a detail-oriented and talented Copywriter with a strong background in Print Journalism to join our team in Bethesda, MD.

The Copywriter will play a key role in crafting high-quality written content across print publications, editorial features, branding touchpoints, and marketing collateral. Operating at the intersection of journalism, storytelling, and strategic growth, you will translate complex ideas into clear, engaging, and AP-style-aligned written content. Collaborating closely with creative directors, designers, and strategists, you will write long-form print features, press releases, brand stories, and client communications while maintaining distinct brand voices across all channels.

This is an on-site W-2 opportunity in Bethesda, Maryland, open to local candidates who can reliably work at the designated location. The engagement is contingent upon contract award and client approval.

What You'll Do

• Write, edit, and proofread clear, persuasive, and grammatically precise copy for print publications, editorial features, brochures, press releases, and client collateral.
• Conduct thorough research and interviews to develop well-reported articles, whitepapers, and compelling brand stories.
• Collaborate with graphic designers and art directors to pair narrative storytelling seamlessly with visual design layouts for print media.
• Apply Associated Press (AP) style and rigorous journalistic standards to uphold quality, tone, and brand integrity across publications.
• Adapt voice and style to suit varied industries, audiences, and publication formats.
• Manage multiple writing assignments under strict editorial deadlines while adhering to publication guidelines.
• Receive and track authored works, review submissions for editorial consistency and completeness, and coordinate the required Government reviews.
• Maintain a record of submission dates, reviewer comments, revisions, and disposition.
• Government officials retain clearance and release authority.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Print Media, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 3+ years of professional copywriting or editorial writing experience, with a focus on print publications or journalism.
• A portfolio of published writing samples demonstrating exceptional investigative, storytelling, and copyediting capabilities across print media.
• Mastery of AP Style, copyediting markups, grammar, and headline writing.
• Proven interviewing skills and the ability to synthesize complex information into engaging, accessible print articles.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage competing project priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background writing for newspapers, magazines, trade publications, or publishing houses.
• Familiarity with digital journalism, content strategy, and SEO copywriting basics.
• Previous experience in a creative agency, public relations firm, or newsroom setting.
• Knowledge of print production processes, page layout, and editorial workflows.
