About The Role

As a Data Analyst, you will help manage and improve data structures, reporting, and validation processes. You will work with relational databases and data warehousing tools to develop specifications, analyze information, investigate issues, and resolve problems. The role also includes communicating with customers, gathering and validating requirements, preparing documentation, and providing training and support as needed. This position is based in Dahlgren, Virginia, and requires an active Secret security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required for Secret clearance at this location.

Qualifications

A high school diploma is required; a bachelor’s degree is highly desired. Candidates should have five or more years of relevant experience and strong analytical skills related to relational database management systems and data warehousing. Proficiency with the Cognos Tool Suite for developing dashboards and reports, along with experience writing and analyzing SQL queries, is important. Applicants should also demonstrate mathematical reasoning, excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills.

Additional qualifications include the ability to work independently and collaboratively, strong interpersonal skills, and good judgment. Experience with security assessment tools such as Nessus and with implementing and testing security controls is valuable. Knowledge of analytical tools and evaluation techniques is desired. Familiarity with government accounting is also desirable, with Department of Defense accounting experience considered especially relevant. Candidates must currently hold a Secret-level security clearance and be U.S. citizens.

The role includes physical requirements such as lifting up to 15–25 pounds, standing or walking for extended periods, and periodically twisting, bending, or squatting.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain data structures and tables, validate data, and prepare clear, accurate documentation. Create specifications for online queries and reports, database loads, and data validation. Analyze data and products to identify issues, investigate their causes, and recommend or implement appropriate resolutions. Support data warehousing and system development activities while collaborating with team members and customers. Assist with requirements gathering, validation, training, and customer support, communicating findings and technical information in a clear and professional manner.

Benefits

The targeted annual salary range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000, based on qualifications and experience. Bowhead considers factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education and training, skills, internal peer equity, and market and business considerations when determining an offer. The salary range is a general guideline and is not a guarantee of compensation.
