This position supports data warehousing, analysis, system development, training, and customer support in a government environment.

About The Role

The Data Analyst will help manage and improve data systems used to support customer operations and decision-making. Working with colleagues and customers, you will develop and validate data structures, analyze information, investigate system or data issues, and produce reporting and technical documentation. The role calls for a detail-oriented professional who can turn requirements into dependable data solutions and communicate findings clearly. Candidates must currently hold an active Secret security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required for a Secret clearance at this location.

Qualifications

A high school diploma is required; a bachelor’s degree is highly desired. Candidates must have at least five years of relevant experience and demonstrate strong analytical skills related to relational database management systems and data warehousing. Proficiency with the Cognos Tool Suite for developing dashboards and reports is important, along with experience writing and analyzing SQL queries.

The successful candidate will bring strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of mathematical reasoning. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for customer support, gathering requirements, and validating results. Applicants should have sound interpersonal skills and judgment, and be comfortable working independently or collaboratively. Experience with security assessment tools, such as Nessus, and with implementing and testing security controls is also required. Familiarity with analytical tools and evaluation techniques is desirable. Knowledge of government accounting is preferred, particularly Department of Defense accounting.

This position includes physical activities such as lifting up to 15–25 pounds, standing or walking for extended periods, and periodically twisting, bending, and squatting. Candidates should be able to perform these essential duties, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain data structures and tables that support reporting and analysis. Validate data for accuracy, consistency, and completeness, and document data definitions, processes, and outcomes. Prepare specifications for online queries and reports, database loads, and data validation activities. Write, review, and analyze SQL queries to retrieve and assess information, and use Cognos tools to create dashboards and reports that address customer needs.

Investigate data, product, and system issues; analyze contributing factors; and help resolve problems in a timely, well-documented manner. Work with customers and team members to gather and clarify requirements, verify that solutions meet expectations, and provide training and ongoing support. Contribute to data warehousing and system development activities while following applicable security practices and customer procedures.

Benefits

The targeted annual salary range is $80,000 to $90,000, depending on qualifications and experience. Salary information is a general guideline and is not a guarantee of compensation.
