About the Role

A leading Media & Entertainment organization is seeking a Senior Data Infrastructure Engineer to help build and scale a next-generation data platform. This role will focus on designing and operating the infrastructure behind complex data flows, ingestion pipelines, internal metadata applications, and unstructured contract data.

The engineer will work closely with data pipeline developers and business stakeholders to establish the technical roadmap and build reliable infrastructure that delivers critical data to downstream systems and executive decision-makers. This is a remote contract position, with candidates in the Eastern or Central time zones preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and evolve data architecture supporting real-time and batch data movement, primarily within AWS.
  • Build normalization and transformation pipelines that reconcile data from approximately 10 different sources while preserving raw data.
  • Implement and manage streaming and batch data ingestion using technologies such as Kafka, Flink, and Debezium.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code for data pipeline components using tools such as Terraform.
  • Build and operate near-real-time streaming workflows alongside batch and export-based ingestion processes.
  • Work with source databases, including SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
  • Partner with engineering and business stakeholders to define data retention strategies that support historical analysis and forecasting.
  • Advise on architecture decisions where infrastructure overlaps across related projects, promoting reuse and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with CRM-focused business solutions teams on data integration points, including platforms such as Salesforce.
  • Support the delivery of reliable data infrastructure for downstream systems, analytics, and executive reporting.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS as the primary cloud environment.
  • Experience with streaming and change data capture technologies, including Kafka, Flink, and Debezium.
  • Experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with lakehouse architecture and tools such as Apache Iceberg, AWS Glue, and Lake Formation.
  • Proficiency in Java or Python for data application development.
  • Experience designing data normalization and transformation logic across multiple disparate data sources.
  • Ability to design data infrastructure for long-term data retention and downstream analytics and forecasting use cases.

Preferred Qualifications

Exposure to CRM platforms such as Salesforce, including experience integrating them as data sources or destinations.

Compensation & Contract Details

  • Contract compensation of $70–$85 per hour.
  • Remote contract engagement.

Location & Work Arrangement

  • Fully remote position.
  • Candidates in the Eastern or Central U.S. time zones are preferred.

Application Deadline

Applications will be accepted through September 25, 2026.
