About the Role

Actifai is seeking experienced Senior Data Engineers to help architect and build its next-generation cloud enterprise data platform. The Data Engineering team owns the data powering Actifai’s SaaS applications and data products, covering the complete data lifecycle, including ingestion, storage, querying, data quality, operations, and governance.

The role involves modernizing the existing data ecosystem and building an enterprise-grade foundation for next-generation AI applications. Senior Data Engineers will work closely with other engineers to develop and operate scalable data platforms while taking ownership of complex technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and operate a cloud-based enterprise data platform.
• Develop and maintain a big data platform that processes, refines, and enables efficient access to data.
• Support the full data lifecycle, including ingestion, storage, querying, data quality, operations, and governance.
• Modernize existing data systems to meet current data engineering standards.
• Develop clean, scalable, and maintainable code using Python and SQL.
• Work with real-world datasets, including complex and inconsistent data.
• Apply software development best practices to maintain engineering and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.
• Communicate technical engineering issues effectively to business professionals and translate business needs for engineering teams.
• Plan and execute work modules spanning several months while delivering incrementally against tight schedules.

Required Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience building cloud-native data solutions.
• Significant programming experience with Python.
• Strong understanding of SQL.
• Experience with cloud data platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with data orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow or Azure Data Factory.
• Experience with cloud storage solutions such as Google Cloud Storage or Azure Blob Storage.
• Experience with OLTP databases such as PostgreSQL or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with data warehouses such as BigQuery or Microsoft Fabric.
• Experience refactoring and upgrading existing data systems to modern engineering standards.
• Strong understanding of software development best practices.
• Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage complex projects and deliver work incrementally within tight schedules.
• Strong attention to detail in data and design.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a small, fast-paced engineering team.

Education and Experience

• Degree in a STEM discipline or equivalent practical work experience.
