Founded in 2011, the company develops an AI-native security platform and operates large-scale distributed systems that process nearly 3 trillion events per day.

CrowdStrike promotes flexibility, autonomy, responsible AI adoption, experimentation, and continuous learning. Its teams use AI to improve workflows, accelerate execution, uncover insights, and solve complex technical challenges.

About the Role

CrowdStrike is seeking a Senior Platform Data Engineer to architect, deploy, and operate the core data infrastructure and platform services supporting its analytics ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of infrastructure and data engineering, with responsibility for the reliability, scalability, security, and performance of the data platform.

You will manage production platform services, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, data models, and platform automation. Working with technologies such as Apache Airflow, Apache Superset, Terraform, DBT, OpenMetadata, and Python, you will help maintain reliable data services while implementing security and compliance controls. The role also involves providing technical leadership and mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy, configure, and administer core platform tools, including Apache Airflow and Apache Superset, in production environments.
  • Manage infrastructure-as-code (IaC) for data platform components using Terraform.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for platform services and data workflow deployments.
  • Implement and enforce platform security, access controls, and compliance standards.
  • Develop and maintain data models using DBT and catalog data assets within OpenMetadata.
  • Write efficient Python code for platform automation and data processing.
  • Maintain the reliability, scalability, and performance of core data infrastructure and platform services.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
  • Contribute to improved decision-making, workflow efficiency, and business outcomes through the effective use of AI technologies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of combined infrastructure and data engineering experience.
  • At least 5 years of advanced Python programming experience.
  • Expert knowledge of Apache Airflow deployment and administration.
  • Strong experience deploying and managing Apache Superset or similar business intelligence platforms.
  • Cloud platform expertise across AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), including IAM, networking, and managed services.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Production experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes and/or Docker.
  • Knowledge and experience with DBT and OpenMetadata.
  • Strong SQL skills and data modeling expertise.
  • Experience with data security and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI technologies to improve decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, increase efficiency, and drive business outcomes.
  • Eligibility for CJIS clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship or Green Card/permanent resident status.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience working with cybersecurity data.
  • Contributions to open-source projects.
  • Knowledge of machine learning pipelines.
