Location: Tolleson, Arizona

About The Company

Corning is one of the world’s leading innovators in glass, ceramics, and materials science. For generations, our people have developed technologies that help connect communities, advance transportation, transform entertainment, and support the delivery of lifesaving medicines. At Corning, innovation is driven by people who challenge expectations and turn ambitious ideas into practical solutions.

Our Solar business manufactures U.S.-made solar components, including hyper-pure polysilicon, high-quality solar wafers, and innovative photovoltaic modules. By applying our expertise in advanced manufacturing, we help meet growing energy demand, strengthen critical U.S. supply chains, and deliver quality and reliability to customers.

About The Role

Corning is developing the future of solar module manufacturing at its Tolleson, Arizona, site and is seeking a Manufacturing Data Engineer to establish the facility’s data, reporting, and analytics foundation. This high-impact role connects data engineering with manufacturing operations. You will develop KPI frameworks and performance reporting that help teams understand results, identify opportunities, and make informed decisions as the site grows.

Working across manufacturing, warehouse, and business functions, you will collaborate with operations, supply chain, quality, finance, and IT to turn business needs into scalable data solutions. This position is suited to an analytical, hands-on professional who can work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic startup environment.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Data Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related discipline is required, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Candidates should have at least three years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, analytics, or reporting development.

Qualified applicants will bring experience designing data structures, models, reports, or performance measurement tools; proficiency in SQL; and familiarity with data querying, transformation, and validation. Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SAP reporting tools, or comparable visualization platforms is expected. Experience with ERP, manufacturing, warehouse, or operational systems is also important. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills are essential.

Experience supporting a site startup, major implementation, or business transformation is desirable. Manufacturing, supply chain, SAP, data governance, KPI standardization, process improvement, automation, or Python experience is an advantage. Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or similar operational excellence methods is helpful. The successful candidate can identify needs, develop practical solutions, and carry tools from concept through implementation.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement data structures, dashboards, scorecards, and KPI frameworks to support startup operations and sustained business performance. Partner with cross-functional teams to define data requirements, reporting priorities, and meaningful performance measures.

Support operational excellence through root cause analysis, performance tracking, standardized metrics, and data-informed process improvements. Establish and maintain data governance, quality, and reporting standards so solutions remain consistent, reliable, and scalable. Investigate and resolve data issues across reports and systems, and document KPI calculations, reporting logic, and key definitions. Manage multiple priorities while communicating technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Benefits

The expected salary range for this full-time position is $86,722 to $119,244. Starting pay depends on job-related factors, including location, market conditions, experience, training, and education. Corning’s total compensation package includes company-wide bonuses and long-term incentives tied to business results. Eligible employees can receive company matching contributions to the 401(k) plan of up to 4% of pay when contributing at least 6%.

Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage; paid parental leave; family-building support; fitness resources; company-paid life insurance; disability coverage; disease management programs; paid time off; and an Employee Assistance Program. This position does not support immigration sponsorship.
