About the Opportunity:

The DATA SCIENTIST II role contributes to the program by performing advanced data analysis and research to enhance short- and long-term outcomes for service members and families. This position is responsible for applying data science techniques to extract insights, support decision-making, and improve program effectiveness within the SOF enterprise.

Responsibilities:

• Perform data analysis and modeling on large datasets.
• Apply data mining, natural language processing, and machine learning techniques.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and designers to develop experiments and products.
• Identify, access, clean, and prepare data for modeling.
• Create and refine data features.
• Conduct A/B testing, statistical analysis, and communicate findings.
• Explore new designs or technologies that align with mission goals.
• Conduct advanced analytics, predictive and statistical analysis.
• Translate data into narratives supporting decision-making.
• Manage data within government systems.
• Develop dashboards to automate analysis and identify trends.
• Assist with survey design and reporting.
• Advise on data capture methods related to programs and initiatives.
• Collaborate with program staff and biostatisticians.
• Provide expertise in program evaluation and research methodologies.
• Use statistical modeling and visualization to report mission-relevant findings.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in quantitative or social science disciplines.
• Three or more years of relevant research experience.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and statistical software (SPSS, SAS, Python, R Shiny).
• Demonstrated research proficiency and scientific publications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals.
• U.S. citizenship and active or eligible Secret security clearance.
• B.S. or B.A. in related technical fields required; advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years experience with major machine learning/deep learning frameworks and algorithms.

Pay Range and Compensation Package:
