About The Role
Guidehouse is seeking a hands-on data analytics professional to support organizational and mission goals within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). In this client-facing role, you will develop and enhance analytics solutions that inform operational and strategic decisions. You will work across the analytics lifecycle, translating client needs into practical reporting and visualization tools while contributing to data preparation and analysis. Strong technical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences are important to success.
This position is part of the Data Science Consulting job family and may require travel of up to 10%. The selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a federal or DHS Public Trust. The annual salary range is $113,000–$188,000. Compensation is based on factors such as skills, experience, training, clearances, certifications, and organizational needs.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and at least five years of experience in data analytics, data science, business analytics, or data engineering. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a federal or DHS Public Trust. The role also calls for strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to gather requirements, present findings, and explain technical topics to non-technical audiences.
Preferred qualifications include experience with financial or budget data, budget and workload modeling, and dashboard user interface and user experience design. Familiarity with PowerApps, cloud-based analytics environments such as Databricks, Palantir, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and data integration processes and tools is valuable. Experience using Python and R for analytics and data transformation is also desirable.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and data visualizations that deliver relevant insights to client stakeholders. Lead and review data-cleaning scripts, including scripts developed with Python, and help ensure analytics outputs are accurate and useful. Maintain and improve dashboards, reporting tools, and analytics solutions used for operational and strategic decision-making.
Partner with clients to understand requirements, shape analytical approaches, and present results clearly. Balance planned work with competing priorities, including quick-turn and ad hoc requests. Contribute to business development activities such as proposals, including RFP, RFQ, and RFI responses, and white papers. Support internal firm initiatives and continue developing relevant professional skills.
