Database Administrator

The Role

• Support multiple product teams in managing and optimizing enterprise database systems.

• Lead cloud migration initiatives, transitioning from on-premises infrastructure to a scalable, cloud-native platform.

• Stabilize, remediate, and re-architect existing on-premises database environments.

• Design and execute phased migrations to AWS, ensuring a safe and efficient transition.

• Serve as the primary database authority, defining strategy and driving modernization efforts.

• Advise architects and software engineers on data architecture decisions and best practices.

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline, with 10+ years of experience in database administration, engineering, or related technical roles.

• Proven experience in database design, code development, administration, and systems engineering for high-performance, fault-tolerant systems.

• 8+ years of experience with multiple AWS RDS database technologies (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) and NoSQL services like DynamoDB.

• Expertise in high-availability and disaster-recovery technologies (clustering, replication, failover, backup/restore).

• Strong background in performance tuning, indexing strategies, query optimization, and execution plan analysis.

• Experience building and maturing CI/CD practices for database changes, including schema migrations and deployment automation.
