Job Description
About The Company
SGA Inc. is a women-owned technology and resource solutions provider focused on solving complex IT challenges through a personal, boutique approach. Each year, SGA connects consultants with more than 1,000 engagements, bringing organizations and technology professionals together to deliver meaningful results. The company’s values include customer service, employee development, quality, and integrity. SGA aims to foster an environment where people can be themselves, develop their skills, and find purpose in their work.
About The Role
SGA Inc. is seeking a DevOps Engineer with a focus on test automation and performance for a contract assignment with a premier client in Greensboro, North Carolina. This hands-on opportunity is suited to an early- to mid-career professional who can work independently and take ownership of automation, performance testing, and DevOps practices. In this role, you will help connect development and QA teams, strengthen product quality, and support reliable delivery of a web-based product. The successful candidate will be comfortable making practical technical decisions, identifying opportunities for improvement, and delivering results with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
Candidates should bring early- to mid-level experience in DevOps or test automation, along with hands-on experience testing web applications. Practical knowledge of UI automation frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, SpecFlow, or comparable tools is required. Applicants should understand performance, load, and scale testing, including how to review results, identify bottlenecks, and assess system behavior as usage increases. Working knowledge of C# and Windows-based development environments is also required, as is hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, particularly CI/CD pipelines. The role calls for strong organization, sound prioritization, clear communication, and the ability to work autonomously.
Experience with API or integration testing is an advantage. Familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter or k6, cloud-hosted applications on Azure or AWS, and testing systems under increasing load or growth scenarios is preferred. Experience serving as the primary owner of a technical area will also be valuable.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks for the web-based product. Own UI test automation and improve test coverage, stability, execution speed, and reporting. Plan and conduct performance, load, and scale tests that reflect realistic usage, then analyze findings to identify bottlenecks and collaborate with developers on improvements to scalability and reliability.
Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, ensuring that build, functional testing, UI testing, performance testing, and release workflows are supported. Integrate automated checks into delivery pipelines so that quality and performance concerns are identified early. Automate repeatable processes, reduce manual effort, and independently investigate pipeline or environment issues. Act as a technical bridge between development and QA, communicate risks and findings clearly, and take responsibility for ongoing improvements to automation, testing, and DevOps practices.
Benefits
This contract assignment offers the opportunity to contribute directly to a client’s delivery and quality practices while working with a high degree of ownership. You will have the chance to build and improve automation and performance capabilities, collaborate across development and QA, and make a visible impact on product reliability. Through SGA, consultants can access a broad range of technology engagements and join a company committed to customer service, employee development, and quality. By applying, you authorize SGA to process your application for this and future opportunities in accordance with its Privacy Policy. SGA may contact applicants by email, text, or phone, including through an AI recruiter.
