Position Overview

Unreal Staffing, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineering Manager in DevOps to lead our engineering team in enhancing the delivery of robust, scalable, and secure services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement while overseeing the development, deployment, and operation of various applications and systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to implement best practices in DevOps, optimize workflow processes, and ensure the efficient operation of our engineering efforts.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, providing guidance on best practices, tools, and methodologies.
• Design and implement the overall DevOps strategy to streamline deployment processes and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Collaborate with software development teams to ensure integration of operational requirements into the software development lifecycle.
• Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, ensuring high availability and reliability of applications and infrastructure.
• Facilitate communication between engineering and operations teams to enhance cooperation and expedite issue resolution.
• Oversee the management of infrastructure, cloud services, and tooling, ensuring cost-efficiency and service excellence.
• Implement and enforce security protocols and compliance measures related to both software development and operations.
• Identify potential risks and create mitigation strategies to optimize the impact on business operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering and DevOps practices, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
• Experience with cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) and configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on stakeholder engagement.

Technologies & Tools

This position will require extensive use of various technologies and tools including but not limited to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI), containerization and orchestration systems (Docker, Kubernetes), monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana), and configuration management (Ansible, Terraform). Familiarity with version control systems like Git and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence will also be crucial for success in this role.
