Role Description The Direct Support Professional is a full-time, on-site role based in Vonore, TN, providing daily support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Responsibilities include assisting with personal care, daily living skills, and household tasks, while encouraging independence and self-advocacy. The role involves supporting individuals in community activities, transportation, appointments, and social engagement. The Direct Support Professional will follow person-centered plans, document services accurately, and communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and families. This position also includes monitoring health and safety, implementing training and skill-building activities, and responding calmly and appropriately in emergency or challenging situations.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience or education in Human Services and working with Intellectual Disabilities.
• Strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities for interacting with individuals, families, and team members.
• Ability to provide Training and support for daily living skills, community integration, and behavior supports.
• Reliable, patient, and compassionate approach to care, with a commitment to person-centered support.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework or certifications in human services or related fields is beneficial.
• Ability to work assigned full-time schedule, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
• Basic computer and documentation skills, with attention to detail and confidentiality requirements.
• Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and ability to meet any transportation requirements is preferred.
