Job Description

Role: Director/Head of Operations

Competitive Salary + Performance Bonus

Full Time - Remote - UK, US (EST) EMEA

We are Roosty’s, a fast-growing DTC brand scaling incredibly aggressively in the US market.

Roosty’s is a rapidly growing DTC brand built around a simple mission: helping backyard chicken owners raise healthier, happier hens through high-quality, easy-to-use products.

The brand operates on a direct-to-consumer model, offering a range of supplements, care

products and solutions designed to support the full lifecycle of a flock - from gut health and

immunity through to pest control and overall wellbeing. With a strong focus on education,

product efficacy and customer outcomes, Roosty’s has built a loyal customer base and is now scaling aggressively through performance marketing and creative-led growth.

Our founders are now focused on building the infrastructure, systems and leadership team that will support continued scale and ultimately prepare the business for its next chapter.

Operations sits at the centre of that journey.

We are looking for an exceptional Director/Head of Operations to build the operational engine of the business. You'll work directly alongside the founders, owning everything from supply chain and inventory through to new product launches, supplier management, compliance and operational strategy.

This is a genuine opportunity to shape how one of the fastest-growing brands in the category operates over the coming years.

The Role

As Director/Head of Operations you'll own one thing:

Building a world-class operational function capable of supporting Roosty's through its next stage of growth.

This is about ensuring:

  • Products are sourced efficiently.
  • Inventory is planned accurately.
  • Suppliers consistently deliver.
  • New products launch successfully.
  • Operational systems scale alongside revenue.
  • The founders spend less time firefighting and more time growing the business.

You'll become the operational backbone of the company, working cross-functionally across Product, Marketing, Finance and Customer Experience to ensure the business runs efficiently as it continues to grow.

What You'll Be Doing

Operations & Supply Chain:

  • Own day-to-day operations across the business.
  • Lead inventory planning, forecasting and replenishment.
  • Manage manufacturers, suppliers and logistics partners.
  • Own 3PL performance and fulfilment KPIs.
  • Improve purchasing processes and inventory management.
  • Build operational reporting and forecasting dashboards.
  • Identify bottlenecks before they become problems.
  • Build scalable SOPs and operational systems.

New Product Development:

  • Own the operational delivery of all new product launches.
  • Build detailed launch plans and project timelines.
  • Coordinate suppliers, manufacturers, packaging and logistics.
  • Ensure launches happen on time and in full.
  • Improve and standardise the NPD process as the product portfolio grows.

Compliance & Quality:

  • Own product compliance across all channels and markets.
  • Coordinate regulatory partners and manufacturing teams.
  • Ensure packaging, labelling and product claims meet compliance requirements.
  • Maintain product specifications and quality documentation.
  • Continuously improve quality assurance standards.

Commercial Operations:

  • Partner closely with Finance on purchasing, inventory planning and cash flow forecasting.
  • Work with Marketing and Ecommerce to ensure stock availability aligns with promotional activity.
  • Improve operational visibility through reporting and KPIs.
  • Balance customer experience with operational efficiency.

Leadership:

  • Build and develop the Operations function as the business grows.
  • Hold suppliers and partners accountable to agreed service levels.
  • Lead cross-functional operational projects.
  • Raise standards across the business through better systems and accountability.
  • Build a culture of ownership, pace and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Experience leading Operations within a high-growth eCommerce or consumer products business- preferably a company with a subscription based business model.
  • Strong supply chain and inventory management experience.
  • Experience managing manufacturers and supplier relationships.
  • Experience launching physical consumer products from concept through commercialisation.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Experience improving systems and operational processes.
  • Highly commercial with excellent analytical capability.
  • Comfortable working in a founder-led, fast-moving environment.
  • Naturally proactive and solutions-oriented.

Nice to Have:

  • Shopify experience.
  • Amazon experience.
  • Subscription business experience.
  • ERP or inventory planning systems.
  • Product compliance or regulatory experience.
  • Experience preparing businesses for rapid scale or acquisition.
  • Consumer goods, supplements, pet or FMCG experience.

What Really Matters:

More than anything, we are looking for someone who:

  • Takes complete ownership.
  • Loves building systems and processes from the ground up.
  • Thinks commercially rather than operationally.
  • Enjoys solving complex problems.
  • Is highly organised and detail-oriented.
  • Thrives in ambiguity and fast-moving environments.
  • Can simplify complexity as the business scales.
  • Wants to build something genuinely special alongside the founders.

Team Context

You'll be joining a lean leadership team where:

  • Operations currently sits heavily with the founders.
  • The foundations are in place, but significant opportunity exists to professionalise the function.
  • You'll own operational strategy across supply chain, inventory, product launches and compliance.
  • You'll have genuine autonomy to shape how the business operates.
  • Success will naturally create the opportunity to build and lead a wider Operations team over time.

What Success Looks Like

Within your first 12 months you will have:

  • Built scalable operational systems capable of supporting the next phase of growth.
  • Significantly improved forecasting and inventory accuracy.
  • Reduced stock-outs and operational inefficiencies.
  • Strengthened supplier relationships and accountability.
  • Built a structured, repeatable NPD process.
  • Embedded robust compliance and quality processes.
  • Reduced founder dependency across day-to-day operations.
  • Positioned Operations as a genuine competitive advantage for the business.

Compensation

  • Competitive base salary.
  • Performance-based bonus.
  • Fully remote.
  • Significant autonomy and ownership.
  • Opportunity to help shape one of the fastest-growing brands in the category.

Why Join Roosty's?

  • Join one of the fastest-growing brands in the US consumer products space.
  • Build the operational engine that supports the next stage of growth.
  • Work directly alongside ambitious founders.
  • Take genuine ownership across supply chain, operations and product launches.
  • Help build a business preparing for significant long-term growth and a future exit.
  • Be given the autonomy to create systems rather than inherit them.
  • Clear opportunity to grow alongside the business as the leadership team expands.

If you're excited by building systems, solving operational challenges and creating the infrastructure that allows ambitious brands to scale, we'd love to hear from you.
