Job Description

Position Overview: This role involves operating tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and straight trucks, with a focus on safety, freight handling, and customer service. Responsibilities include performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, hooking/unhooking trailers, handling freight using forklifts and manual equipment, and securing cargo. The role also requires verifying documentation, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with hazardous material regulations.

Key Duties

Operate various trucks and perform safety inspections
Handle freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual tools
Secure cargo and repair damaged freight as needed
Complete documentation and reports accurately
Communicate with dispatch, customers, and sales teams
Follow all laws, regulations, and company policies
Perform additional duties such as tire chaining or road-side tasks when necessary

Qualifications & Skills

Class A CDL or valid learner permit
Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards
Basic math, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform physical tasks
Ability to work independently or in a team

Working Conditions: The role involves driving in various weather conditions, exposure to noise, dust, diesel fumes, and potential hazardous materials. Flexibility in hours is required to meet operational needs.
