Job Description

Position Overview: Develop proficiency in operating tractor-trailer combinations, including pickups and deliveries between service centers or turn-point locations. Responsibilities may include non-driving duties such as forklift operation and dock work.

Key Duties

Operate tractor-trailer units, including doubles and straight trucks
Perform safety inspections before, during, and after trips
Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies
Maintain accurate logs and complete required documentation
Follow dispatch instructions and communicate effectively
Ensure compliance with hazardous material regulations
Provide customer service and perform freight handling as needed
Operate motorized/manual equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks
Follow all laws, regulations, and company policies

Qualifications & Skills

Class A CDL or permit, with acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
Knowledge of DOT regulations and basic math skills
Strong communication skills
Ability to lift approximately 100 pounds, sit for long periods, and perform physical activities
Ability to follow instructions and work independently or in a team

Working Conditions: Driving long distances in varied weather, exposure to noise, vibrations, dust, diesel fumes, and hazardous materials. Overnight stays may be required, and hours can vary based on operational needs.
