Job Description

We are seeking a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Administrator / Business Analyst to serve as the primary owner and internal subject matter expert for its ERP environment.

This is not an implementation consulting role. We are seeking someone who enjoys owning and supporting a Business Central environment long term, partnering directly with business stakeholders, driving continuous improvement, managing vendors, and helping maximize the value of the platform across the organization.

The ideal candidate combines Business Central expertise with strong business analysis, stakeholder management, and ERP administration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary administrator, owner, and subject matter expert for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Act as the central point of contact for ERP-related questions, enhancements, and support requests.
  • Partner with Finance, Operations, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Support and help lead the organization's migration from an on-premises Business Central environment to Business Central SaaS.
  • Manage relationships with implementation partners, consultants, and third-party vendors.
  • Support and optimize integrations, including EDI, Avalara, Continia, and other connected business applications.
  • Evaluate customizations and recommend opportunities to leverage standard Business Central functionality.
  • Coordinate testing, user training, documentation, and change management activities.
  • Support reporting and analytics initiatives, including Power BI dashboards and reporting enhancements.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts and identify opportunities to leverage new Microsoft technologies, including AI capabilities.
  • Act as the liaison between business teams, external partners, and leadership to align ERP priorities and initiatives.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience supporting, administering, or owning Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Dynamics NAV environments.
  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and improve business processes.
  • Experience supporting ERP integrations, particularly EDI environments.
  • Experience participating in or supporting Business Central cloud migration initiatives.
  • Experience managing vendors, implementation partners, or external consultants.
  • Strong business analysis, troubleshooting, and process improvement skills.
  • Experience developing user training materials and supporting end-user adoption.
  • Familiarity with Power BI; DAX experience is a plus.
  • Ability to balance technical ERP knowledge with broader business objectives.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with users at all levels of the organization.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a lean environment and takes ownership of outcomes.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience serving as an internal Business Central Administrator, ERP Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or Product Owner.
  • Experience reducing reliance on external consulting resources by building internal knowledge and documentation.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, distribution, publishing, wholesale, or inventory-driven organizations.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central certifications are a plus.
