Job Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the cloud engineering teams, providing direction, support, and mentoring.
• Design and implement cloud architecture solutions that are reliable, scalable, and cost-effective.
• Establish and enforce best practices for cloud operational excellence, security, and compliance.
• Drive the adoption of DevOps methodologies to enhance development workflows and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with product management and other teams to define technology roadmaps and project priorities.
• Manage budgets and resources for cloud infrastructure projects.
• Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to improve cloud-based services and deployment pipelines.
• Monitor cloud services and applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in cloud computing and DevOps methodologies.
• 5+ years of experience in a managerial or leadership role.
• Extensive knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with container orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
• Strong understanding of CI/CD processes and tools.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strategic thinking.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams.

Technologies & Tools

The Engineering Director will utilize a variety of technologies and tools, including but not limited to AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Terraform, monitoring tools (such as Prometheus and Grafana), and version control systems like Git. A deep understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) practices, as well as familiarity with agile frameworks and technical debt management, will be key to success in this role.
