Mess Hall is a DIY accessory making experience serving up creativity with a playful cafeteria twist. Guests design their own hats, bags, and other accessories by choosing from hundreds of patches, pins, and buttons—and we bring their ideas to life right on the spot. Our off-site events bring the Mess Hall experience to celebrations, corporate gatherings, and community events. 

Position Overview 

We’re looking for an energetic, hands-on Event Associate to bring the Mess Hall experience on the road. This is a flexible, pickup-shift position, with work scheduled around off-site event bookings. You’ll help prepare products and supplies, set up the event station, guide guests through customization, and pack up and return materials to the shop afterward. The ideal candidate has great people skills, feels confident communicating with clients on-site, and enjoys capturing social media content that shows the energy of each event. 

Responsibilities 

Prepare, organize, and pack products, supplies, and equipment before events. Assist with loading, transportation, and setup of an inviting, brand-consistent event station. Check in with the on-site client to confirm setup details and event expectations. Help guests design their accessories and operate heat presses to finalize their creations. Process POS transactions when applicable and keep the station stocked, tidy, and welcoming. Capture photos and short videos for Mess Hall’s social media, following brand and client guidelines. 

Check out with the client, break down the setup, and pack materials securely. Return equipment and remaining inventory to the shop, restock supplies, and report any issues or shortages. 

Qualifications 

Strong people skills and confidence in communicating with guests and clients. Reliable, punctual, and comfortable taking initiative while working with a team. Creative mindset with attention to detail. 

Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and learning heat press and POS operations. 

Enthusiasm for capturing engaging event photos and videos. 

Able to load, carry, set up, and pack event supplies and equipment. 

Reliable transportation to the shop and assigned event locations.
