Executive Chef

Role Description The Executive Chef at our new Upscale Casual Restaurant and Bar in Mattapoisett, MA is a full-time, on-site role. This position oversees all culinary operations including menu development, recipe standardization, food preparation, and presentation. The Executive Chef manages kitchen staff scheduling, training, and performance, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization. Day-to-day responsibilities include sourcing ingredients, controlling food costs, collaborating with management on menu pricing and specials, and monitoring quality during service.

Conpensation: 100,000.00 to 120,000.00 per year plus an exceptional benefits package.

This is a hands on working chef position.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in culinary arts, including advanced cooking techniques, menu creation, and plating design.
• Experience leading kitchen teams, with skills in staff training, scheduling, performance management, and conflict resolution.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and regulatory compliance (ServSafe or equivalent certification preferred).
• Ability to manage food and labor costs, inventory, and vendor relationships to meet budget and quality targets.
• Proven track record in high-volume or upscale dining environments, with a focus on guest satisfaction and consistent quality.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work with clients, front-of-house teams, and leadership stakeholders.
• Culinary degree or formal culinary training is highly preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required in a hospitality environment.
