Job Description
About the job
Pear Commerce helps CPG brands get found and get bought. Our technology powers inventory-aware, shoppable experiences across media and digital touchpoints, connecting shoppers to in-stock retailers while capturing full-funnel data and actionable insights. We partner closely with the world's leading food, beverage, alcohol, beauty, and pet brands to bring these experiences to life, ensuring they launch quickly, perform strongly, and continuously improve over time.
As we scale how we reach those brands, understanding what actually drives growth — and where to invest next — is central to the mission.
The Team
At Pear, we hire the best and then take really good care of them. We want you to grow here, and believe hiring and keeping world-class talent is a true competitive advantage. To be clear, our team is not a family. It's a group of insanely talented and kind people that work tirelessly (but not like on the weekend or evenings) to make Pear better than it was yesterday.
Pear is a venture-backed startup and, to succeed, you must be comfortable with our approach:
- We focus on alignment so we can act autonomously.
- We are builders and do-ers and we move quickly.
- We ask why because we are curious and like to learn.
- We want the ideal team player—humble, hungry, and smart.
- We are not homogenous. We celebrate diversity.
- We work hard but know when to turn work off.
- We are not afraid of messiness, of change, of moving fast.
The Role
We are looking for someone to run and execute Strategic Growth Operations at Pear. You will be the go-to person at Pear for evaluating our growth strategies, owning how we measure success, and driving recommendations through to execution. You will analyze the levers we use to generate top-of-funnel demand, understand how that demand converts, and make the call on what we double down on, what we stop doing, and what we start doing.
This role is for someone who wants to own the answer to “is this actually working?” across an entire go-to-market motion — and who has the business judgment and acumen to make a recommendation and execute on it, based on data and trial and error.
You will report directly to the COO (who also runs GTM) and operate with real latitude. This is a senior, high-visibility role: your work will shape where the company invests, and you'll be expected to own growth experimentation, drive outcomes and have a point of view.
You Will Be Responsible for:
Growth Measurement and Attribution
- Build and own a single, trustworthy view of what's producing pipeline, by channel and by campaign.
- Own the metrics that matter at each funnel stage, and the leading indicators that show early whether something is working.
- Bring rigor to how we read results, and know when a conclusion needs more evidence.
Growth Priorities and Experimentation
- Own the picture of how demand converts through the funnel and where it breaks down.
- Build the case for where to increase investment, where to pull back, and what to test next.
- Take each one to the team that owns it and see it through to a decision.
- Own our experimentation program, from design to readout, so we learn something real rather than confirm what we already believed.
ICP and Customer Insight
- Own our ICP definition, grounded in what our best customers have in common, and how to find more of them.
- Partner with our Head of Demand Gen to integrate those insights into targeting and messaging, shape how we sell, and ensure we're driving positive post-sale outcomes.
ROI Modeling
- Build and own the models that quantify ROI both for Pear and for our customers.
- Equip our sales team with the ROI story so customers understand the concrete business impact Pear has on their business.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Work closely with the leaders of Demand Gen, Analytics & Finance, IT Systems, and Product, whose decisions your work informs.
- Turn findings into clear, actionable direction for leadership and for the teams executing against it, and follow through until it lands
- Serve as a flexible strategic operator for the COO, owning high-priority initiatives across the business end to end.
You Have
- Real, hands-on experience owning growth strategy or growth analytics at a B2B SaaS company — you've done this work, not just managed people who did.
- A strong analytical toolkit, paired with the business judgment to know which analysis actually matters. We care more about the results your work drives than the sophistication of your methods.
- Comfort building from the ground up. You'll have real latitude to define how we measure growth, which means shaping the instrumentation as well as the analysis.
- Exceptional communication skills. You can explain a finding to a CEO in two sentences and defend the methodology if asked.
- Experience driving change across functions and building credibility with experienced leaders in marketing, sales, product, and finance.
- Strong technical curiosity and fluency; able to quickly learn new tools and work effectively with technical partners.
- Hands-on comfort with a modern GTM stack (CRM, marketing automation, intent/ABM platforms, analytics tooling) or the ability to get there quickly.
- Experience designing and running experiments or test programs.
Compensation
The base compensation range for this role is $160,000-$180,000. Salary is based around a number of factors including geography, experience, and skillset. We also offer:
- 100% of your health premium paid + competitive premium coverage for your dependents
- Fully remote work with bi-yearly onsites to meet your colleagues
- 401(k) plan
- $250/month co-working space stipend
- $250 one-time home office stipend
- 20 company holidays and unlimited PTO
