📢 We’re Hiring: Interventional Radiology (IR) Authorization & Scheduling Coordinator

📍 Work Schedule: Monday–Friday

🏥 Department: Interventional Radiology (IR)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized IR Authorization & Scheduling Coordinator to support patient care by managing procedure authorizations, coordinating appointments, verifying insurance eligibility, and ensuring timely follow-up with patients, providers, and insurance companies.

🔹 Key Responsibilities

• Submit and track insurance authorizations for Interventional Radiology procedures.
• Monitor authorization status daily and escalate cases requiring peer-to-peer reviews.
• Schedule IR procedures with and without anesthesia.
• Review patient cases and coordinate appropriate follow-up.
• Verify patient demographics, registration details, insurance coverage, and eligibility.
• Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and internal teams.
• Counsel patients regarding insurance coverage, eligibility, and authorization requirements.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.

🔹 Required Qualifications

• General understanding of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT codes.
• Experience in a hospital or medical office setting.
• Knowledge of patient registration, third-party payers, government-funded programs, and managed care.
• Experience with referral and insurance authorization processes.
• Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with systems such as Signature and TDS.

🔹 Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as an admitting worker or surgery scheduler.
• Familiarity with UC policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of Joint Commission (JCAHO) requirements.
