Job Description

About The Company

Kens Foods is a food and beverage manufacturing organization committed to producing and delivering its products through dependable operations. Protecting the technology that supports its business is essential to maintaining secure, reliable services across corporate IT and manufacturing environments. The company is strengthening its cybersecurity program and seeks a practical, technically skilled professional to help safeguard its systems, networks, people, and plant operations.

About The Role

Kens Foods is seeking a hands-on IT Security Engineer to help build and mature its cybersecurity capabilities. In this role, you will serve as a primary technical resource for security initiatives, working closely with IT infrastructure teams, OT engineers, developers, and the company’s managed security service provider (MSSP) and SOC. You will investigate security events, improve system and network configurations, coordinate vulnerability remediation, and contribute to stronger protections across IT and operational technology environments. This position is suited to an experienced engineer who enjoys resolving technical challenges, documenting work clearly, and collaborating across teams.

Qualifications

Applicants should have 5–8 or more years of experience in IT security engineering, security operations, or incident response. The ideal candidate brings practical experience securing Windows Server and client systems, virtual machines, networks, firewalls, and endpoints, along with familiarity managing endpoint protection tools such as SentinelOne. Strong knowledge of Active Directory, identity security, MFA, role-based access controls, and privileged access hygiene is expected. Candidates should be comfortable analyzing logs, triaging SOC alerts, reviewing vulnerability scan results, and translating findings into prioritized remediation work. Familiarity with NIST CSF, CIS Controls, or SOC 2, as well as strong documentation habits and a process-oriented approach, is important.

Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or OT/ICS environments is preferred. Familiarity with PLCs, plant-floor constraints, ISA/IEC 62443 principles, Microsoft 365 security, PowerShell or Python automation, network segmentation, or Zero Trust concepts is beneficial. Relevant certifications may include GSEC, GCED, GCIH, GDSA, GDAT, GICSP, GCIP, or GRID. Applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent basis. Kens Foods does not provide visa sponsorship or immigration support for this position.

Responsibilities

Review MSSP alerts and escalations to assess severity, potential impact, and appropriate response. Conduct technical investigations and support containment, eradication, and recovery activities. Harden Windows servers, clients, virtual machines, and other infrastructure, and help ensure secure deployment and management of endpoint protection. Partner with infrastructure teams to improve firewall, switch, and network configurations; review firewall rules; and advance network segmentation, least-privilege access, and secure remote connectivity.

Support identity platform hardening and enforce access-control standards. Coordinate with the MSSP to ensure vulnerability scans are effective, validate findings, assess risk, and organize remediation with system and network owners. Lead patching and configuration improvements for high-risk assets. Work with developers to assess application and server security, identify issues related to the OWASP Top 10, and support fixes. Collaborate with OT engineers to understand legacy systems and plant requirements, contribute to ICS security controls and network segmentation, monitor relevant emerging threats, and conduct periodic threat modeling for high-risk systems and applications.

Benefits

The annual compensation range for this position is $120,000–$130,000. The final salary offer will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and education. Information about any additional benefits can be discussed during the hiring process.

Equal Opportunity

Kens Foods is committed to fair and equitable employment practices. Employment decisions are made without discrimination and in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
