Kforce is a professional staffing and solutions firm that connects organizations with skilled professionals to support their technology and business needs. For this position, Kforce is seeking a Java Developer to contribute to a large-scale, high-visibility digital platform.

About the Role

The Java Developer will develop and enhance backend services that support mobile and digital experiences. The role focuses on building scalable, reliable, cloud-based applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

You will work closely with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to deliver new functionality and improve existing platform services. The team follows an AI-forward development approach, using modern AI-assisted tools to support software development. Technical guidance and leadership responsibilities will depend on the candidate’s experience level.

This is a remote position.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance backend services supporting digital and mobile applications.
• Build scalable backend solutions using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop and maintain cloud-native applications and services.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to deliver new features and platform enhancements.
• Use modern AI-assisted development tools within an AI-forward software development environment.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership as appropriate to experience level.
• Communicate effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Four to ten or more years of Java development experience.
• Experience with Spring Boot.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), which is required.
• An AI-first development mindset and experience using AI-assisted development tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Claude or similar AI-assisted development tools.

Salary & Benefits

Compensation is determined based on factors such as education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract requirements, and business needs. The employer’s stated pay range may be adjusted, and actual compensation may fall above or below the anticipated range.

This position is not eligible for bonuses, incentives, or commissions. Compensation is subject to Kforce’s applicable policies and discretion, consistent with the law.
