About the Role

Butler America Aerospace, LLC. is seeking a Java Developer – WebMethods Engineer to support its CCS modernization effort. The role focuses on upgrading existing Java components from Java 8 to Java 11 or later, refactoring affected code, and ensuring seamless integration with upgraded Documentum and WebMethods components.

The developer will also work with Kiro to accelerate code analysis, refactoring, and modernization activities while reviewing and validating AI-generated recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Upgrade CCS Java services from Java 8 to Java 11 or later.
• Refactor code affected by deprecated or removed APIs, library updates, and newer Java features.
• Redesign and validate Java integrations with the upgraded Documentum environment.
• Collaborate with WebMethods developers to ensure seamless end-to-end communication.
• Use Kiro to support codebase analysis, automated refactoring proposals, test generation, and identification of testing gaps.
• Review and validate AI-generated code refactorings and recommendations.
• Participate in code reviews, CI/CD improvements, and automated testing.

Required Qualifications

• At least 5 years of Java development experience, including Java 8 and newer versions.
• Strong understanding of JDK 11 changes and migration considerations.
• Experience with REST, Spring/Spring Boot, and integration patterns.
• Familiarity with JMS, SOAP/REST integrations, or middleware systems.
• Experience reviewing and validating AI-generated development outputs.
• Proficiency with Git, Jenkins, and Maven or Gradle.
• Engineering degree.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience integrating with Documentum or other Enterprise Content Management (ECM) systems.
• Exposure to container platforms and technologies such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, or Docker.

Work Arrangement

• Remote or onsite in Seattle, Washington.
