Position: Lead AWS DevOps Engineer - AMI Lifecycle & Infrastructure Automation

Duration: FULLTIME

Location: : Dallas, TX or Denver, CO (3 days onsite per week)

Job Description:

• Lead the standardization and management of AWS AMIs (Amazon Machine Image) across enterprise workloads.

• Build and automate AMI creation, testing, patching, and refresh pipelines.

• Develop Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform and AWS-native services.

• Automate EC2 and Auto Scaling Group provisioning through CI/CD pipelines.

• Embed vulnerability scanning, remediation, and compliance controls into the image lifecycle.

• Implement monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and operational reporting.

• Drive AWS cost optimization initiatives and infrastructure modernization efforts.

• Partner with Cloud, Security, Application, and DevOps teams to remove blockers and enable automated releases.

• Provide technical leadership to offshore engineers and act as the primary client-facing technical lead.

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years in Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps, or Platform Engineering.

• Strong AWS expertise across EC2, ASG, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, and Systems Manager.

• Hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.

• Deep experience building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, or AWS CodePipeline.

• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar.

• Experience with vulnerability management, security automation, and DevSecOps practices.

• Proven ability to lead technical discussions and work directly with client stakeholders.

• Experience leading distributed onsite/offshore teams.

Nice to Have

• AWS DevOps Engineer or Solutions Architect certification.

• Java experience.

• Experience with enterprise image management, golden AMIs, or cloud platform engineering.

• Exposure to FinOps and cloud cost optimization initiatives.

Ideal Profile: A hands-on AWS DevOps Lead who can modernize AMI lifecycle management, automate infrastructure delivery, improve security posture, and confidently lead client-facing technical initiatives.
