Lead Full Stack Python Developer ( 100 % Remote )

About the Role

Our client, a large insurance firm, is seeking a Lead Full Stack Python Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain complex applications and web service integrations across interconnected enterprise systems.

This role combines full stack application development, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, database collaboration, and AI-assisted engineering. The developer will build scalable backend services and frontend solutions, support production systems, maintain data quality, and contribute to technical architecture and development standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test scalable applications across frontend, backend, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps environments.
• Build backend services and APIs primarily using Python, while contributing to frontend development as needed.
• Develop and maintain frontend applications using ReactJS or Angular.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure using Terraform.
• Monitor production systems, troubleshoot incidents, and implement root-cause fixes.
• Write, validate, and maintain application code and scripts for internal and external systems.
• Collaborate with Database Administrators and Technical Services to support application and database requirements.
• Assist with SQL Server table design, data integrity, stored procedures, SSRS reports, and SSIS packages.
• Collaborate with product, QA, and engineering teams to plan and deliver features.
• Conduct code reviews and promote development standards and knowledge sharing.
• Improve deployment reliability, observability, system performance, and resource utilization.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, technical roadmaps, and application design.
• Lead the conceptualization and development of programs, web applications, and web service integrations.
• Develop and maintain APIs and produce logical diagrams documenting current and future system states.
• Support the LifePRO application, including evaluating, testing, and deploying periodic releases and new functionality.
• Use AI-powered coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI, ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini to support software development and engineering workflows.
• Develop and execute program-level and system-level testing plans.
• Monitor assigned applications and diagnose and correct logic or coding errors.
• Review production data and reports to verify scheduled job completion, data quality, and integrity.
• Create and maintain application and system documentation, including disaster recovery and data center instructions.
• Maintain design and architecture documentation, standards, and best-practice guides.
• Prepare special reports as requested.

Required Qualifications & Technical Skills

• Strong full stack development experience with Python and ReactJS or Angular.
• Experience with AWS cloud services.
• Experience with Terraform and infrastructure management.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
• Experience with SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of .NET.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, particularly Claude.
• Experience developing applications, APIs, and web service integrations.
• Ability to design, test, troubleshoot, and maintain complex applications.
• Strong understanding of data quality, system integrity, and application performance.

Work Arrangement & Employment Type
