Job Description: Lead Java Developer

Location: Philadelphia, PA onsite

Job type: Contract

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Java Backend Lead to lead backend development, design scalable applications, and guide developers in building high-performance enterprise solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead backend development using Java and Spring Boot.
Design and develop REST APIs and microservices.
Guide developers, review code, and ensure coding standards.
Work with databases, system integrations, and application performance optimization.
Collaborate with architects, QA, and business teams.
Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure high-quality delivery.

Required Skills

Strong experience with Java 8/11/17 and Spring Boot.
Hands-on experience with REST APIs and microservices architecture.
Experience with SQL databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
Knowledge of multithreading, design patterns, and data structures.
Experience with Git, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies.
Strong technical leadership and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Kafka and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
Previous experience leading a backend development team.
